Recently, on September 16, the classic animated Disney hit from 1994, "Lion King," was recreated in 3D. Hollywood has been searching for an award winning formula for 3D productions and has just now realized that the missing component was not the effects, but a good story-line. The surprise release of the 3D Lion King has collected 61.5 million between September 26 and its release and the amount has continued to rise. This reaction after the re-release was great news after recent 3D box-office flops such as "Green Lantern" and "Mars Needs Moms." 3D film expert James Cameron says, “To turn around the trough of disillusionment, whatever its source is, we have to change the perception. The way for us to work against that is to continue to have success stories.” Cameron supports the lesson learned from this film was that 3D effects alone cannot get the job done for a movie; there must be a good story behind it. Disney has been talking about creating other renditions of their successful films. Hopefully after this, there will be less 3D movies that are all about the effects and don't have any plot.
A review for the 3D rendition is posted

I thought this blog was really informative but you kept it short and interesting, so I applaud you for that.Good title and picture too.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the information you included. Usually 3D movies are pretty bad. That picture is also good.
